It Is Time

Description

“She’s coming home.” The pale stallion breathed, lifting his head up from where he’d been grazing beside his mate. Flicking an ear in attention to his utterance, Saytauri continued to graze. “Is it time?” The mare mused between mouthfuls, eyeing the driveway as the truck and trailer made its way up to the main barn.

Taking a moment to reach out, Elrohir felt for his intended, feeling the fear and uncertainty in the female, but below that, a core of strength that had increased and become more intense since she’d left. “Yes.” He replied firmly. “It is time.”

“Then we should begin our tasks. It will take time to prepare them both for their futures.” The pale mare stated softly, lifting her head as well and gazing in the direction of his attentions thoughtfully. “He is nearly ready. The others have prepared him well.”

                “Then we shall begin.”

This was... a test run to see if I'd still get frustrated with digital realism. Tried something different, liked how it worked. I'll probably do a few more test images to make sure that it's going to work on a variety of coats.

Love how Elrohir came out... Saytauri, I was getting a little tired at that point and just wanted the image done so I could start this, so she has quite a few more mistakes.(Like the cut in the ear><) But overall, pleased with how it turned out. Definitely a lot better than what I've been doing lately.

Also trying the critique button. Critiques with no actual 'critiquing' will be hidden(if possible) or ignored. I'm not looking for an ego stroke, but an honest opinion based on technique and improvement.

You could work on your textures, and although seeing it's just a sketch, your lighting could be improved. I see you saw some shading, but that doesn't matter too much if there isn't any lighting. Surrounding colors are very important to a drawing.
